I am Sara, a Ballet Dancer & Product Designer who has turned to UX/UI Designer!

 

I was born and raised in Iran where it is difficult to follow the dream of becoming a dance artist because ballet dance is forbidden. I had multiple interests growing up, and I also enjoyed immersing myself in new areas of curiosity and creative pursuits. I loved to draw and build things, with an insatiable curiosity for understanding how various products work. I would often evasion or redesign and rebuild products we use every day to enhance both their usefulness and aesthetics. After exploring and researching various creative paths my interest turned to industrial and product design, and while obtaining a bachelor’s degree in this field I found I was most drawn to the essential challenges of discovery and research, the essential building blocks of the problem-solving process. 

 

After completing undergrad coursework with honors in Iran in July 2013, I was awarded Iran's Olympiad, as the best product designer as well as offered the opportunity to further my studies towards a master’s degree. After completing my master's in industrial and product design, I moved to the United States to pursue a new career in design. While living in the Los Angeles area in March 2022, I enrolled in a 6-month UX Design Immersion course at Thinkful and will be graduating from the program in a month.

 

In my spare time I teach ballet and yoga besides doing weight training. I also so interested to cook new recopies!

After graduation from Thinkful, I would like to pursue my interest to work as a UX Design researcher in healthcare and tech industries. I'm excited to begin collaborating with stakeholders and UX design teams where I can apply all the skills, I've acquired in UX research, design thinking and human-centered design, and especially, for the opportunity to make life easier, beneficial and delightful for product users!
